Puppies Pedigree

Well we are not sure how to explain this one.  This is our “perfect storm”.  Dubaya was due to whelp March 30 thru April 1st.  On March 28th we noticed her temperature drop and thought we had 12-24 hours before the pups would arrive.  We had just welcomed one of our son’s closest friends to spend a couple of nights with us and we decided to go out to dinner and then to church.  We left the house at 5:45 p.m.. During dinner Carey started to feel ill, and then it passed.  We continued with our evening and after service we headed home. We arrived home at about 8:15 p.m..  Once we arrived home, Carey rushed to the bathroom, and I went to let the dogs out of their crates.  That’s when it hit the fan!!! When I got to Dubaya’s crate she had a PILE of puppies with her inside the crate! She had delivered eight puppies by herself.  All but one was well, that pup was a ridgeless female, and she never made it out of her sack and had passed.  So at this point I’m freaking out!  Carey is getting very violently ill, and I have a bunch of puppies to get nursing, documented and weighed.  We’ll needless to say we had a rough night. Once all the excitement settled down we delivered two more puppies for a total of ten puppies. I sent Carey off to bed and stayed with mama and her brood. So for the next two nights I stayed up as long as I could to keep an eye on everybody and Carey would spell me when she could or while I was at work.  And when I was at work and Carey needed to rest our children ages 8 and 10, along with our sons friend (10), held down the fort. We are very grateful that Dubaya was able to take care of herself, and we equally thankful that our kids, plus one, was there to help. Matt we can’t thank you enough or tell you how proud we are of you!! This will be one spring break you’ll never forget! Here are the vitals for the litter:
